Charlotte Journalism Collaborative 2024-25 Annual Report

Since its founding in 2019, the Charlotte Journalism Collaborative (CJC) has realized we can do more together than any one of us can do alone. While we work toward our next collaborative project, we wanted to share some highlights from the last 12 months. In our 2024-25 Annual Report see how we:

  • Worked together during the 2024 election to keep you more informed,
  • Explored the “Echoes of a Pandemic” five years after COVID-19’s first case in Charlotte,
  • Brought together more than 65 organizations for the fourth annual Local News Impact Summit,
  • Worked with NC Local and WNC journalists to produce the WNC Housing Guide following Hurricane Helene,
  • Established our new office on the campus of Queens University of Charlotte, and more.

United by a shared commitment to the power of storytelling, the CJC brings together journalists, news organizations and community institutions to create a more informed and engaged Charlotte.

Members of the collaborative include the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library, The Charlotte Observer, James L. Knight School of Communication at Queens University of Charlotte, La Noticia, QCity Metro, Qnotes, UNC Charlotte Urban Institute, WCNC-Charlotte, and WFAE 90.7 FM.

Members of the Charlotte Journalism Collaborative (CJC) and other N.C. news and community leaders at the 2025 Knight Media Forum in Miami.
